It came as an OEM -no box- and there is a complete 3 year manufact. THE activity led connection from the promise board seems to have a low voltage output- The LED on the front of my case is not as bright as I would expect - but works.

Make sure the new drive you intend to install comes with available disk tools for setup, some disk drive manufacturers do not seem to readily support disk tool downloads, Or you just can't find them at all while migrating their website.

As far as the card: The promise website is kept up to date with drivers, although the TX I got did not need any updates, worked right out of the box. Of course as always, New Eggs shipping and service for my detailed order was totally painless and rewarding. Recognized both hard drives right off, managed to configure the array in 10 seconds without cracking the manual open.

Pros: Can be used in older boards. These features people can use in an older PC. I have installed two of these cards now and they work great. The windows version of the software works really well. Cons: The interface is a little crude but it does the job. Not many bad things to say the card is RED if you don't like red that's bad. Overall Review: I would buy more of these cards and more Promise products based on my experiences with this card. Dollar for dollar it is a great value.
