Axenstar the inquisition download
Under Black Wings Salvation Inside Your Mind Daydreamer Drifting The Burning Run or Hide The Sands Of Time All great songs. Excellent songwriting, great riffs and melodies, you've got some good music right here.
Not much changed from their first album, if we're going to be discussing lyrics. It was pretty much the same stuff with some twists here and there with more catchy melodies.
Now, gave us The Inquisition. I was looking for this album everywhere, and finally found it, hoping it would live up to my expectations. I took a look at it, started playing it, and immediately began to like it. However, after a few tracks, I started to realize Axenstar did with this album what they did with Far From Heaven - it sounds very similar to there previous albums.
Now, that's not exactly a bad thing, and I understand it's probably harder than I think to change your style of music, but a lot of the stuff sounded similar. The production quality is more or less the same - I found the vocals to be slightly nicer to listen to, myself. The Fallen One is a decent opener, nothing incredible. Under Black Wings is another good song, still nothing superb. Most of the other tracks are good, but in my opinion, they're not as good or memorable as Perpetual Twilight's songs or even Far From Heaven's.
The most notable tracks are Daydreamer, with a catchy chorus and great melody, and The Sands of Time, which is pretty nice to listen to. There's really nothing new on this album, though in my opinion, it does feel like they tried to vary it up a little, mood-wise.
The Inquisition is nothing excellent, nor is it bad by any means. Axenstar has great potential and is already making very good music, but they need to mix things up and, in my opinion, work on the production quality just a little more. While I do find the vocalist unique and easy to recognize, I think they need to work on how Magnus's voice sounds. If you're looking for some escape from music like Rhapsody's tales of swords and dragons or Dragonforce's apocalyptic nightmares, check out Axenstar.
It has the catchy, melodic music you want while still having good vocals and lyrics. Final Requiem Condemnation The Divine Edge Of The World Thirteen The Hide Underworld Spirit Pagan Ritual Seeds Of Evil While the first track The Fallen One started with a lower drum attack than you would expect from Axenstar , Under Black Wings is more crunchy in that area and delivers a more pronounced beat.
But unlike typical Power Metal bands, Axenstar varies the style of their song all along, with excellent breaks, worthy of great prog bands like Symphony X or Vanden Plas. The guitar sound is amazing, and the solos remind me of the japanese J-Rock band Siam Shade from time to time especially in Under Black Wings , but nothing is left behind, and that wonderful song gets an amazing piano break as well who said X-Japan?
While the inspiration might not have been done on purpose, it will sure tip off any fan of the mentioned Japanese bands. The album goes on alterning fast and quiter moments until the very last song, Run or Hide , which ends the album perfectly. The short ballad almost an interlude is not the best of the genre, but its not a bad song either.
Keys are used smartly and they blend in Axenstar particular sound perfectly. The second album Far From Heaven was recorded during May of and just about a week after the recordings were done Axenstar played at the mighty Sweden Rock Festival, which was a great experience for the band. In January the opportunity was given to go ahead on their first European Tour as the opening act to Falconer, although Magnus Ek was unable to go on the tour, Joakim Jonsson Skyfire, The Mist of Avalon was found to be the stand-in bass-player on the tour, which turned out great.
The third album The Inquisition saw the light of day in , but during this time and the time after the release there were some problems within the band and in late summer guitarists Peter Johansson and Thomas Eriksson left the band, not because of disagreements but for personal reasons.
After that third release the contract with Arise Records was over and Axenstar started looking for a new deal, now joining forces with Joakim Jonsson on lead guitar.
Inside Your Mind A broken soul on the edge to insanity Not knowing right from wrong or what is true or false Making up your own rules of how to live your life Don't you ever ever think about anyone else?
Inside your mind there's a never ending battle Between the lies and the words that speaks the truth Take what you can before is it all over Your evil deeds will in the end bring you down Go back in time to when you were much younger The scars in your soul forced you to be strong Aggression, disbelief, controlling your life Confrontation seems like the only way Inside your mind there's a never ending battle Between the lies and the words that speaks the truth Take what you can before is it all over Your evil deeds will in the end bring you down Searching for answers In the emptiness between dream and reality The secrets of life hidden deep in your mind Carefully kept away from the outside world Inside your mind there's a never ending battle Between the lies and the words that speaks the truth Take what you can before is it all over Your evil deeds will in the end bring you down 5.
Daydreamer Have you ever seen a sun shine at night? Have you ever seen a star in sunlight? Do you sleep when the wolves are free?
Or do you lie awake thinking how will it be? I'm not the kind of person with all the answers I'm just a simple man who's searching the truth Since you marked my soul with your touch I see you in my dreams, I want you so much Now I've scaped from my reality Unleashed my soul just to feel your touch I'm a daydreamer in the moonlight A passion out of sight I'm a daydreamer in the shadows I'm your dream tonight You're my reverie in the dead of night Maybe one day my dreams can come true Catch the day and leave life behind Am I brave enough to follow my heart?
